The next destination is Hydra, where we planned to get in some onshore sightseeing. But since the marina at Hydra is very small and extremely crowded, we decided to anchor stern-to in a small bay called Molos Bay, with stern lines running to shore. After getting moored up, we called for a water taxi to take us in to the Hydra port. And let me tell you: boy, did we do the right thing in avoiding parking in that marina! First of all, the entry to that marina is like 2 or 3 boat widths only. This is where the ferries come in to port, and also all the water taxis. Then you see that most people who have docked in the marina, have one or even two boats parked stacked in front of them! What a mess! So if you are ready to leave in the morning but your neighbor who parked in front of you ins nowhere to be found, good luck! Anyway the water taxi was EUR 60 one way, EUR 120 roundtrip, so we opted for that option. We had considered parking on the coast of Dokos and taking a water taxi from there, but the cost goes up to EUR 200 one way, EUR 400 roundtrip top get all the way to Dokos. So we kept to our Molos Bay plan.

Jenn and I let Steve and the girls explore the town, while we just sat at a café and chilled out—we had visited Hydra during the Greece Flotilla with Vagabonde Adventures back in 2023. After much window shopping and a bit of swimming, we went for a nice dinner, then hopped back in the water taxi and called it a night.
